last year hubby & i hosted x-mas at our place.
this year our pagan friends are hosting yule/x-mas.
they are into shamanism and i would really like to be able to give them something special that relates to their beliefs.
BOTR, thx for the suggestions, I never considered a mennonite store, but they would have gifts of a more natural and less commercial nature. We have Mennonite places not far from where I live. Guelph Ontario is not too far from me and is a University town so I could check there.

OH TEC: the baking, yes. My friends look forward to my X-mas goodies. My best friend teases me that she comes to visit my baking, not me. lol. I found a real great recipe for these ultra tasty squares. They are easy to make and are truly rich. Magic Santa Squares. Yum yum yum. Leslie

BOTR: if that's not normal then I'm not normal either. lol. I also am making up for lost time. I have lights around my front windows (white) with a homemade wreath in both with coloured snowflakes and gold bells hanging in the middle of the wreath and of course, a big bow. I made colored snowflake mobiles that I hang on the inside in front of the windows. I also have wall decorations, door decorations, table decorations etc, etc. and of course a 7 ft X-mas tree. I know I go a>>> bit<<<(haha)overboard but what the heck. I have the X-mas tunes on, fortunately I can get 102.5 FM Buffalo up here in Ontario. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. It's great. Leslie
i borrowed a jerry garcia doll from my mom, and i'm making him a sparlock outfit.
i'm going to strap him to the top of the big tree and put it in front of the living room window.
i will post pictures when i get him finished..

Chariklo, thanks for the suggestions. I'm so dense, don't know why I didn't think of looking for a new age shop. duh. I will try another search using new age. I saw somewhere that beeswax candles are the candle of choice. Not sure about what particular INCENSE STICKS to get. Thx again- Leslie-

Heaven, I have checked the net for stores but all I can seem to find are websites that are for ordering stuff online. I would rather go to a store in person and SEE the items up close and personal. If you know of any stores in the Brampton, Mississauga, Burlington, Oakville, or Milton area please let me know. Shamanistic music, now I never even thought of that. Thx. for the link.
I know the Yule log is also something that one is to receive, so I may have to get my hubby to go into the woods out back and get one to give them. I want to give something that has special meaning for them.

WAHHH, never made it there, damn! Was working outside in one of the fields the day before, trying to catch up on necessary chores before winter, and dislocated my right ankle again! (Screwed it up at Easter the first time) Popped the sucker back into place again but now I can barely stand on it. Took 3 months to feel semi-normal last time. Oh well, there's always next year (unless of course the Mayans were right, then it won't matter anyway, lol). <<<just kidding about the Mayans. - Leslie -
